Earthlings is a feature length documentary about humanity’s absolute dependence on animals but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called “non-human providers.” The film is narrated by Joaquin Phoenix and features music by Moby. Warning: Contains very explicit images.

  1. Having watched the entire video, I don’t know what to do now. I’m 41 years old and I see almost daily that I haven’t got a clue as to how to live properly, in harmony with anything. For all my intelligence a raccoon or squirrel does a better job at life than I do. Everywhere I turn I see compelling, truthful arguments in favor of change. Global warming, peak oil, the ruination of our crop soils…. all these problems and others like them seem so much greater than the threat of nuclear war I grew up with.

I feel very lost just now. Change is coming and I’m afraid of it.

  2. @Bruno: All you need to do is be aware of your own actions and words. Good actions and words is all it takes. And you know which actions are good. Everybody knows. People just have to remember. A documentary like this, how awful the images may be, also helps to make people aware of their actions. And, hopefully, change them.

There’s nothing to be afraid of. Just live consciously and treat others like you would like to be treated. Sometimes it’s hard but don’t let that get you down. Always remember that you are not alone in your struggle. Create a good world.
